In the world of Search Engine Optimization, Ranking plays such a vital part, that it is crucial to understand how it works if you want to achieve the highest rankings for your own websites.
There are many different facets to ranking, and it is important to remember that different search engines use different ranking methods, however, lets just focus our attention on Google's page ranking system.
Google's PageRank technology is in fact the very heart of the Google algorithm, and because it determines page ranking based on popularity, it can be likened to a giant electronic voting system. Using that terminology, It stands to reason that the page with the most votes achieves the highest PageRank on a scale of 0-10.
However, it is not just about attaining the most votes. Notice how Google explains PageRank voting:
"PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B..."
"Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages' relative importance."
It appears then, that not all "votes" are viewed in the same way. A page that already has many votes will carry more weight than one that only has a few.
So PageRank is determined not just by link quantity, but also by link source importance. So in order to increase your PageRank, you need to get as many links as possible from other websites into yours, especially sites with the higher PageRanks, as they can have an amazing impact on your rank. For example, just one link from a PR10 page would normally be enough to increase your websites rank to PR8, but to get to that same rank from a PR3 page would probably require somewhere in the region of about 350,000 links.
The way PageRank functions across the entire web is by means of a logarithmic pattern, where there are very few pages with a PR10 (PageRank 10, the highest you can get), but hundreds of thousands with a PR0 (the lowest). In order for the average to stay at 1, any increase in the PR of one page is offset by a very small reduction in the PR of every other page.
However, there other factors involved as well, such as the location of keywords on your web page. Now you may wonder what the relevance is regarding where your keywords are placed, does it really matter? With Google's PageRank, it does.
It would appear that the higher the particular keyword appears on the page, the higher the ranking, and this applies to your title tag as well. For example, if you had a website that sells laptops, which would be one of your keywords, but you didn't use the word "laptops" in your title tag, then your ranking would be lower than a website that did. This is because keyword placement is a fundamental aspect to search engine optimization and is something that Google's PageRank analyzes.
The frequency of keywords also plays a factor in PageRank. A page about laptops which uses that word 5 or 6 times, may receive a higher ranking than if you used that word only 2 or 3 times. Of course one must be carefully not to overdo it as that could be viewed as keyword stuffing, resulting in your ranking dropping like a tank falling from the sky, or worse, being banned altogether.
One thing is clear. Page ranking is a very precise science. 1) Baldur's Gate
Need I say more? If you've played this game, you know why. This is one of the only games that I still replay every few years because it doesn't take too long to beat and doesn't get boring. And who doesn't get excited exploring the city of Baldur's Gate when you finally get to it?
2) Elder Scrolls Oblivion
There are few games out there that push the next gen consoles to their limits and this is one of them. The world is so detailed and expansive, players can get lost for hours and hours just exploring and finding new dungeons and towns. I have this on PS3 and the graphics are matched by few games. The only reason this isn't at the top of my list is because once you experience as much of the game as you can and beat it, unless you have another lifetime to spend, there is too much to do over again, and many of the dungeons and caves get repetitive. But it's still worth being in your game library.
3) Final Fantasy VII
Of course this game is on the list; no game has a more convoluted and deep storyline, with characters that have become a household name, like Vincent and Cloud, not to mention having the coolest villain ever: Sephiroth. Turn-based RPGs are becoming a thing of the past but tons of gamers every year revisit this game to experience the story all over again.
4) Final Fantasy IX
This game doesn't get as much praise as it should. One thing I liked about was it leaned more towards a medieval theme than FFVII, so there were a lot castles and flying boats and dragons. The story was not as interesting as FFVII's, but the game was still very fun to play.
5) Chrono Cross
This game was another one that flew under the radar and didn't get as much attention as it should. Interesting characters and innovative game play kept the turn-based battles relatively fresh. It actually makes it fun to play again after you beat it because you carry over your stats and weapons to the beginning.
6) Gothic 3
Luckily I have a pretty good computer to handle this game, but if you don't, forget about it. This game was cool because the area was HUGE, dotted with settlements of both humans and orcs and many places to explore. You could join with the humans, or betray them and work for the orcs or vice versa. The graphics are amazing and it was really fun rummaging through forests hoping to stumble across lost ruins and monsters.
7) Wild Arms 3
I'm a fan of the Wild West genre games and while I don't really care for cell shaded anime inspired characters, this game is as close as it's going to get to a good western themed game. It isn't really set in the West, the planet is just slowly dying, but the game is fun and there are few things as enjoyable as shooting a goblin in the face while on horseback.
8) Breath of Fire II
Whoever came up with the idea to have a protagonist who can turn into a dragon deserves a medal. This is a classic old-school turn based RPG so people without patience and a long attention span should probably forgo playing it. While very similar to the first installment of the Breath of Fire series, this game's story is a little more grownup, with themes that involve sacrifice, religion, and love.
9) Final Fantasy III
If the graphics were better, it would be higher on my list. The game introduces more playable characters than most RPG's but does well to give each character a deep back story and likeable personality, making players able to identify with them. This game really put role playing games on the map so it definitely makes the list.
10) Skies of Arcadia
Everyone has a little part of them that wants to be a pirate, burning and pillaging, sailing the high seas and looking for treasure. This game allows you to do that, to a degree, but in the air instead of in the water. Dreamcast games don't get a lot of attention, but Skies of Arcadia is one of those must have games for the Dreamcast owner.
If you haven't played some of the games mentioned in my list, I highly recommend that you do because each game contains an experience not worth missing.

I guess Crazy Taxi these days would now be classed as a retro game, even though this is an updated package. The Crazy Taxi PSP version is in fact a compilation of Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 with a few extras, titled Crazy Taxi - Fare Wars (for the PSP).
In its own right, it is true to say that this game is starting to show its age a bit. However, as a portable game, you could argue this is the sort of game that is best suited to play on the move, especially for short train, bus or car journeys...as long as you are not driving the car yourself!!
In case you are new to the concepts of Crazy Taxi, you basically have to make your way around San Francisco is one of 4 different cabs to pick up punters and take them to their desired destination. Ok, this would be pretty simple and boring if it wasn't for the insane time limit you have to do this in. Are you going to take the sensible route via the roads or are you going to drive straight through the park and then launch yourself 50 feet in the air over a Tram to get there?
Don't worry if you hit things because one of the elements that makes this fun is the fact that you seem to bounce off objects as if they were made of rubber. Of course, this can slow you down but as long as you are quick on the gas and make some timely manoeuvres, you should be able to make it in time.
However, things do seem to be made more difficult by the fact that the turning circle doesn't seem to be as tight as the original arcade version. Maybe because you don't have the luxury of a 'real' steering wheel in front of you to spin around.
As for handling in general, Crazy Taxi 1 within the package seems to behave better but in turn, you will find a bit more variety with the second instalment. Luckily you get both in the one package so you can decide which you prefer yourself.
There are also some mini games included which keeps the game going a bit longer even if you finish the main section of the games.
Crazy Taxi PSP will probably appeal most to those feeling nostalgic and want to relive their arcade days. Being slightly older myself, I get the same feeling when playing Outrun. If you're looking for a game where you can have short bursts of fun without frying your brain too much, then this could be the game for you.

New Super Mario Bros. uses the side-scrolling technology which means that the characters generally move from the left side of the screen. It is a video game conceptualized and developed by Nintendo for Nintendo DS handheld console. Initially released in the United States on May 15, 2006, it was subsequently released in Japan, Australia, and Europe and in South Korea. After the release of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, it became the first authentic side-scrolling console game to star Mario since 1992.
With music given by Takashi Tezuka and directed by Nintendo's creative giant, Shigeru Miyamoto, it soon became one of Nintendo's greatest games as is proven by the fact that it went on to be the second best selling game for the company, coming second only to Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 3 offers a more advanced gaming-experience in comparison with Super Mario Bros. series. This is seen in the introduction of a map screen, mini-games, more power-ups, enemies, and level types. Bowser made his red-haired debut with this game. Bowser's children, known as the Koopalings, also make their first ever appearance.
The main plot of SMB3 revolves around Mario and Luigi going on a mission to rescue the "seven kings of the seven worlds" that border the Mushroom Kingdom. The Koopa Kids have stolen the magical wands of every one of the kings, and turned him into animals. Now it's the job of Mario and Luigi to retrieve the wands from Bowser's kids.
Interestingly, Mario and Luigi find out only towards the end of world 7 that these attacks were only distractions created by Bowser to kidnap Princess Toadstool. Now the responsibility falls on Mario and Luigi once more to save the Princess.
SMB3 has eight different worlds each further divided into 8-10 stages not to forget the bonus stages. The levels are themed but not arranged in any strict order so the player has greater freedom to choose which order to play them in.
Fortresses and mini-fortresses are an added feature of SMB3. For every world there is one fortress. It's here that Mario initially meets the airship for that particular world. A mini-fortress is also featured for each of the worlds.
After a level is finished, a box carrying a power-up item appears which must be hit by Mario in order to finish a level. The item contained in the box must be collected by the player, so after collecting three, Mario gets an extra life. One of the most potent bonus items is the Tanooki suit. This turns Mario into a statue which protects him from receiving any harm from his enemies and also giving him the ability to kill them with special moves.
Mario plays a tune on the whistle which is similar to a melody in The Legend of Zelda. The similarity doesn't end here. In each game it calls up a storm that flounces up the hero and unloads him in a different place. The theme song "King of the Koopas" featured in the album "Super Mario Compact Disco".

Grand Theft Auto IV was easily one of the biggest titles to get released on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 this year back in April being one of the most anticipated releases for next generation consoles and with experts predicting record-breaking sales and revenue. How's it doing then?
Released on April 29, 2008, it is reported to have sold far more units globally than was previously expected. Some even consider it to be the console games greatest launch in entertainment history.
Grand Theft Auto IV was expected to push sales of the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 for which it was designed, and these consoles as if you didn't know, are in stiff competition with the increasingly popular Nintendo Wii. And yes, sales have been excellent to date, though you know as well as myself that the Wii is still out there in front.
On it's first day of release, Grand Theft Auto IV sales were 3.6 million units! In it's first seven days, 6 million units were sold beating last year's sales figures for Halo 3. So if anyone asks you about this game you can tell them that it's doing very well thank you very much. Yes, it has a little controversy attached to it due to it's violence and so forth but there is no denying that GTA IV has sold well, is selling well and will sell well.

Dice do have a number of uses, however, in a board game. They are not restricted solely to movement patterns. In the game of Risk, dice are what is used to determine the outcome of the battles which take place. Movement is not determined with Risk by dice, instead by the position of the players on the board. The random element is necessary to simulate war, in this case. Battles can often go any number of ways and it is important that this element can be captured effectively for an accurate game about war.
Risk even goes as far as to give the defenders in the game an advantage, something that the army on an occupying turf usually has. Any attacking army is given 2 dice to attack with, while the defenders are given 3, giving them a better chance of rolling better numbers in which they can defeat the attack. This random element really allows outcomes to be unpredictable and while planning an effective campaign is the best way to win the war, the random outcomes of battles can give players a run for their money.
Dungeons and Dragons is another form of game that often uses a random element from dice, usually for battles as well. However, a great number of dice are usually required for a normal game of Dungeons and Dragons. Each player has different skill levels with this game and, depending on the battles being fought at any given time, those dice may be added to or even subtracted from. There are times when over 10 dice will need to be rolled at any one given moment in a typical Dungeons and Dragons game, making it important that a great number are available. The random elements that dice rolling brings to the game here vary greatly and allow the game to have an element of unpredictability and excitement.
As previously stated, however, dice very often are used for movement around the board. This allows players to race each other from location to location, completing the tasks or gaining the knowledge that they need to gain. If you've played other massively multiplayer games, you know about the drudgery of doing missions, particularly if you've done your second or third character. You go to the quest giving NPC, you click through the same content screens, and go and kill the same monsters every time. You complete missions in a linear sequence, and in the end, the entire process loses a lot of replay value. Think of most MMOGs as having missions like amusement park rides. Like amusement park rides, they can even develop lines as people hang out waiting for a particular monster spawn.
EVE Online missions are different - first of all, they're mostly nonlinear. You can go from nearly any mission to nearly any other mission, and it's not quite as linear as in a traditional MMOG.
Second of all, the missions are completely optional. Unlike a traditional "Dungeons and Dragons" based MMOG, your character's abilities aren't tied to the grind of leveling up. Your character's skills are built on how long you've played and what skills you're trying to improve. While the missions are fun, they're not essential to character growth. It is entirely possible to start a new character, join a corporation, and never do a single mission.
Third, a lot of EVE Online's Missions are built around training you to do specific things in the interface, and to highlight things to do in different parts of the virtual world.
